Abu Dhabi, UAE – July 2024: FortyGuard was honored to participate in the Second Annual Global Sustainability Forum, held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from July 10-12. Hosted in partnership with ADNOC, the New York Stock Exchange (part of ICE – the Intercontinental Exchange), and the CSO Network, the forum brought together over 400 guests to explore the nexus between AI and sustainability, focusing on preserving nature and enabling climate action.
Building on the success of the inaugural Global Sustainability Forum held on the sidelines of COP28 in 2023, this year’s edition boasted a substantial increase in participation and engagement. The event highlighted the transformative potential of AI in addressing environmental challenges and emphasized the importance of cross-sector collaboration in driving meaningful and sustainable change.
At the forum, CEO Jay Sadiq was able to talk about FortyGuard’s cutting-edge Temperature Operating System (tOS), our powerful AI-driven engine designed to tackle the challenge of rising urban heat and enhance climate resilience. Our product solution, the Temperature Dashboard, provides high-resolution heat maps and analytics, enabling cities to develop targeted strategies to reduce urban heat and mitigate its adverse effects on public health and the environment. The discussion of the Dashboard attracted significant interest, with forum attendees keen to learn about its potential to enhance urban planning and climate adaptation efforts.
Yet another exciting development from FortyGuard is that we are now a proud member of the Global Sustainability Forum. This membership aligns with our mission to drive positive environmental change and support sustainable urban development.
"Participating in the Global Sustainability Forum and now also becoming a member of the Forum is an incredibly valuable opportunity for FortyGuard to showcase our commitment to sustainability and climate resilience," remarked Sadiq. "We are eager to share our solutions so that our tOS technology can equip cities with the tools they need to combat urban heat and enhance the quality of life for their residents."
The forum underscored the significant potential of AI in reducing carbon emissions, emphasizing the need for robust regulatory frameworks to ensure ethical deployment. It highlighted balancing energy consumption in AI operations with sustainable outcomes and integrating AI into the carbon credit ecosystem for effective decarbonization. Preparing the workforce for AI advancements was also a key point, with a focus on strict AI governance policies, increased investment in research and development, and engaging communities and academia in sustainability initiatives. The discussions emphasized the critical role of government support for technological advancements and leveraging subject matter experts to enhance AI models. Additionally, the private sector's pivotal role in funding and supporting startups and innovative solutions was highlighted.
FortyGuard’s opportunity to participate in and become a member of the Second Annual Global Sustainability Forum underscores its growing influence in the field of climate technology. As the company continues to innovate and expand its reach, it remains dedicated to driving positive environmental change and supporting cities in their journey towards sustainability.
