FortyGuard is delighted to announce that it is a winner of the annual Make it in the Emirates Startup Pitch Competition. The event took place from 27-28 May and was organized by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) and ADNOC. Despite only being in its second year, the competition has quickly become one of the region's most prominent industrial events.
The event aims to offer a platform for startups in the areas of Additive Manufacturing and Decarbonization to showcase their solutions plus network with industry partners, investors, and stakeholders. Annually, the forum welcomes more than 5,000 visitors and more than 60 exhibitors; with over 100 agreements signed and AED 120 billion in local procurement value. The MIITE Startup Pitch Competition hosts senior officials, public and private decisions makers, investors, entrepreneurs, and academics in attendance. This year, over half of the 400+ entrants were international; including from Korea, China, Germany, SIngapore, India, and the UK.
The winners from the competition received generous financial rewards, as well as a chance to collaborate with industry partners on pilot projects through a mentorship program. FortyGuard will be able to meet with potential investors and industry players to leverage its cutting-edge technologies in real-world settings.
When congratulating the winners, Her Excellency Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology, said: “The UAE has created an environment in which technology startups can thrive. Supportive policies and agile regulation form the foundations of this environment where concepts can be piloted, implemented and scaled. The ministry, under the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology, is committed to continually nurturing this ecosystem, providing technology entrepreneurs with access to capital, enablers and expertise. Through initiatives such as the MIITE Startup Pitch Competition, we continue to build important synergies between innovators and investors, not only to deliver economic growth, but also to address some of the world’s greatest challenges.”
FortyGuard appreciates the opportunity granted by the organizers and is excited to work with industry partners on implementing its technologies into important solutions; both in the UAE and globally.
