What is FortyGuard and where did the name come from?
The name 'FortyGuard' is inspired by the ozone layer, which is located about forty kilometers above the Earth’s surface, and acts as a protective shield that can guard against the sun’s harmful rays. Similarly, FortyGuard aims to shield urban environments from excessive heat, emphasizing our commitment to safeguarding cities and enhancing urban climate resilience.
What is tOS (Temperature Operating System)?
The core engine of FortyGuard, tOS, is an advanced AI-powered infrastructure designed to manage, transform, analyze, and optimize urban temperature data. It consists of several integrated layers of technology that work together to transform raw temperature data into heatmaps, analytics, and actionable insights.
What is the Temperature Dashboard?
This is a visualization platform within tOS where users, such as urban planners and environmental engineers, can access and analyze temperature data, create tailored strategies for urban heat mitigation, and gain detailed insights on temperature dynamics. It is designed to be incredibly user-friendly such that it can be used by anyone interested in deriving tailored and effective urban temperature intelligence strategies.
What is the Temperature API?
The Temperature API is an application programming interface (API) that allows external applications to access and interact with the tOS. It enables developers to integrate FortyGuard’s urban temperature data and analytics into their own platforms, facilitating customized solutions for temperature intelligence.
Who can use FortyGuard's solutions?
Our solutions are versatile and can be used by anyone interested in creating highly granular and accurate heatmaps, gaining actionable temperature data insights, and building urban climate resilience. This includes city planners, environmental engineers, public health officials, and policymakers who can utilize the Temperature Dashboard to visualize data, analyze heat impacts, and develop targeted climate strategies. Additionally, our Temperature API can empower developers, data scientists, and third-party applications by integrating our high-resolution temperature analytics directly into their platforms. This supports customized solutions for temperature intelligence in sectors such as smart city infrastructure, industrial energy optimization, real estate development, data centers, and more.
How does the Temperature Dashboard benefit urban environments?
By providing actionable insights and accurate heat data, the dashboard allows us to first understand the problem of urban heat in great detail, empowering users to make informed decisions to reduce urban heat, cut down on energy expenditures, improve city resilience, and enhance public health.
How does FortyGuard's AI enhance temperature intelligence?
Our AI processes vast data sets to create precise and actionable insights for mitigating heat, from large-scale urban models to street-specific interventions.
Why is it important to address urban temperature?
Rising urban heat - termed by the UN as a “silent killer” as it has claimed more lives than any other natural disaster globally - can have catastrophic health, economic, and environmental impacts. FortyGuard aims to provide solutions to effectively combat urban heat, thereby improving quality of life and urban sustainability.
What are Large Temperature Models (LTMs)?
LTMs are foundational AI models used to predict and analyze temperature patterns across extensive urban areas. Trained on years of data, these models deliver highly precise temperature predictions and support macro-scale urban cooling strategies.
What is TaaS (Temperature as a Service)?
TaaS is FortyGuard's service model, providing clients with data, insights, and solutions for monitoring and managing urban temperatures through our AI-driven platform.
What is the tcMap System?
The tCMap™ System, or Temperature Classification Mapping, is a proprietary tool that delivers high-resolution, granular temperature data for small, precisely defined areas represented as NxN meter squared tiles. This system provides detailed insights into the relationship between temperature and various influencing factors, such as humidity, urban density, and greenery. It is particularly valuable for localized heat dynamics analysis, making it a powerful tool for projects that require precise, area-specific temperature intelligence.
What are Quantiles in Temperature Analytics?
Quantiles categorize temperature data into intervals, helping identify statistical distribution and variations in urban temperature. These can be customized by the user depending on the level of variation they are interested in examining.
What are Polygons?
In the context of our platform, polygons represent specific geographical areas or zones for targeted temperature analysis and visualization.
What are Color Ramps?
Color ramps are used in heatmaps to display data variations visually. They represent different temperature intensities using a gradient of colors, allowing for easy interpretation of hot and cool zones. These can be customized as per the user’s preferences.
What are API credits?
API credits are the currency used to access and consume FortyGuard's temperature intelligence services via our API. Each time you make a request to an API endpoint — such as for heat map generation or urban segmentation — it consumes a specific number of credits based on the complexity and data requirements of that request.
How can I upgrade or downgrade my subscription?
Users will have access to their customer portal from which they can upgrade from the monthly to lump sum payment structure with a 20% discount on the remaining months within the subscription cycle. Downgrading is not allowed until the annual subscription cycle finishes.
What happens to me if I cancel my subscription?
Access to the API credits is retained until the end of the subscription period, and credits remain available for future use upon renewal.
What payment methods do you accept?
Payments are processed via Stripe which accepts credit cards, debit cards, and other popular payment methods.
When will I be billed?
Users are billed monthly or annually, depending on their selected payment plan.
Can I get a refund?
No refunds are provided if the monthly payment structure is chosen. Lump sum payments may be refunded within 14 days of purchase, subject to conditions.
How is my data secured?
Your data is protected with a range of robust security measures as our practices comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and other relevant laws.
What happens to my data if I cancel my subscription?
Access to the dashboard is retained until the end of the subscription period, and credits remain available for future use upon renewal.
